That’s completely okay—this challenge was designed to be beginner-friendly. 

In each lesson, I’ll show you how to break the drawing down into simple shapes and lines, and your printable worksheet includes a blank practice area so you can draw along with me before moving into your sketchbook.

You’ll also receive a full-size template for every daily illustration. If tracing helps you feel more comfortable—or simply makes the experience more relaxing—you are absolutely welcome to use it.

If you’d like to build more confidence with the drawing portion, my Sketching 101 course is a great foundation, but it is not required for this challenge.

Not at all! 

Every daily worksheet includes three miniature versions of the illustration specifically for testing different color combinations before you work on your final sketchbook page.

You can follow my colors exactly, change a few things, create your own palette, or use a completely different coloring medium.

This is your sketchbook, and I want your finished pages to feel like yours.

No. I’ll show you exactly what I’m using, but you are welcome to use supplies you already own. 

I’ll be using a pocket-sized sketchbook, acrylic markers, a pencil, kneaded eraser, black brush pen, and an optional light pad. You do not need to purchase every exact product or brand.

The one item I highly recommend is the Moleskine 3.5" × 5.5" pocket-sized sketchbook, because the daily compositions and printable templates were designed around that page size.

No. The 31-Day Sketchbook Challenge is a separate, limited-time seasonal experience and is not included in the Complete Artist Bundle. 

The Complete Artist Bundle includes Mallery’s permanent course library with lifetime access, while this challenge follows a limited October release schedule with access ending based on the pass selected.

No. All of the lessons are pre-recorded, so there is no specific time you need to show up or attend. 

Beginning October 1, a new lesson will unlock each day through October 31. Once a lesson has been released, you can watch it whenever it fits your schedule.

You do not have to complete the lesson at a certain time of day.

That’s okay! The challenge is designed to unfold throughout October, but you do not need to finish every page by Halloween. 

Your access depends on the pass you choose:

October Pass — $95
Access through November 7, 2026

Extended Access Pass — $145
Access through December 31, 2026

Once a lesson unlocks, it remains available through the end of your access period, so you can catch up, revisit favorites, and finish your sketchbook at your own pace.

There is not a separate private community for this challenge.

Sharing is completely optional. Your sketchbook can just as easily remain a quiet, personal October project.

A full refund is available through October 7, 2026. 

Because this is a limited-time seasonal challenge with daily October releases and access available only through the end of the year, refund requests received after October 7 will not be eligible.

This gives you time to experience the beginning of the challenge and decide whether it’s the right fit for you.
